MetaFox Labs Inc. ("MetaFox", "we", "us", or "our") operates the MetaFox Chrome extension and the companion website at metafox-v3.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use MetaFox.
Information we collect
MetaFox is designed to be privacy-first. We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or browsing history.
- Timer state and streak data: Your current timer mode, time remaining, and daily streak are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's
chrome.storage.localAPI. - Hosted app interaction: When the extension side panel loads the companion web app from metafox-v3.com, the app may request the same timer state through a postMessage bridge to keep the UI in sync. No data is transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
How we use information
We use stored timer data solely to provide the MetaFox functionality: running Pomodoro focus sessions, offering break timers, and tracking your daily streak.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Data never leaves your browser except through the encrypted postMessage channel between the side panel and the embedded app served from our domain.
Cookies and tracking
MetaFox does not use cookies, analytics trackers, or advertising identifiers. The landing pages do not use third-party tracking scripts.
Data retention
Your timer data is retained locally until you uninstall the extension or clear your browser storage. We do not retain copies on our servers.
Security
We take reasonable precautions to protect the companion web app and ensure it is served securely over HTTPS. The postMessage bridge is restricted to the metafox-v3.com origin.
Children's privacy
MetaFox is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
